Burgundy is confronted, on a side to a lack of rental residences in the countryside or the accesses of the cities, other with the existence, in the small communes, of an old inheritance which could be rehabilitated.
This is why, the district council launched the Cœurs operation of villages for submission to the communes of less than 3.500 inhabitants.
To give its support for the creation of rental residences in buildings former to 1948, for the center of the villages, there to maintain the population of origin and to attract new inhabitants.
The district council thus intends to contribute to the development of the social life in the villages and to support the activity of the trade of proximity as well as craftsmen and SME of the building and public works.
With Hearts of villages, the district council also takes part in the development of the framework of life of these communes by the development of public spaces and the possible installation of funds frontages.
He encourages finally with the restoration of commercial premises, artisanal and of services.
In 2004, the district council amplifies and improves the Cœurs operation of villages while launching Cœurs of villages more. He reinforces the assistance with the social housing and the financial incentive with the installation of commercial premises, artisanal and with the restoration of the facade of the private individuals.
He also founds a support for animation in the commune and a help with the marketing activity and artisanal, of private nature.

It is nearly 2.000 residences, in the 7 next years, which should be built in Burgundy by using energy wood or solar energy.
