 Electrician, control of electricity
From the versatility of the workmen of the building, it frequently happens that the electrician cumulates several activities. Specialist in electricity, it extended his functions to plumbing and with the heating and, nowadays, it is not rare to see artisanal companies proposing services in these three specialities.
The electrician outside carries out all electrical installations and inside construction.
Its functions are varied: lighting, apparatuses domestic, heating appliances, air-conditioning, system warning…
It intervenes twice on the building site:
• At the beginning of the building site, the time of carcass work, in order to give its instructions to the mason for the reservations.
He will pose his sons and its electric cables in the load-bearing walls and the cover and the reservations carried out by the mason to help it have to find the site of these cables.
• Before work of completion, thanks to the reservations, it will be able to carry out the electric connections of the apparatuses electric household appliances and the lighting equipments.

The trade
Electrician, you will carry out the monitoring, the maintenance and the breakdown service running of electrical installations of industrial sites or buildings.
According to the tension of service, you will have to lay out of particular enablings controls by standards UTE to intervene on electrical installations (consignments, operations, work under tension…).
Your activity will consist, starting from plans or of diagrams, to control and measure (tension, intensity, insulation, temperature), to clean, tighten and replace various bodies: electrical contacts, terminals, contactors with relays, circuit breakers, transformers, electrical equipment boxes, relay, wiring, engines…
The maintenance of electrical equipment is a manual trade which will bring you in contact with energy and products manufactured or transported (electricity, mechanical energy, chemicals…)
To identify the risk and to protect you will belong to your trade.
Your basic tools will consist of electric measuring devices (multimeter) and thermographic and of tools (screwdriver, grip to be stripped, keys…).
You will be charged to apply a strict regulation which frames controls to be carried out on electrical equipment.

To prepare your intervention using the files of construction and maintenance: wiring diagrams, industrial development programmes, tasks of maintenance to be carried out (checking of the continuity of the electrical circuits, state of tightening of connections, insulation of the apparatuses…), history of the interventions (recent modifications, releases…), procedures of handing-over under tension, regulation to be respected (revolving machine, High voltage…)
To take note of the instructions of hygiene and safety suitable for the intervention: to make sure of the consignments (pressure, heat, gears…), to intervene on equipment under tension, to use the protective gears envisaged (electric safety equipments, helmet, safety shoes, gloves, glasses, helmet antibruit, respiratory protection…)
• To control and diagnose
To carry out the controls envisaged in the programme of maintenance (operational tests of the relayage and equipment), measurements (heating, insulation, tension, intensity, frequency), checking of the tightening of the electric terminals…
To define according to the result of controls and the specifications of documentation operations to be realized: simple cleaning (dust causes electric dysfunctions), standard replacement of an electric component…
In the event of breakdown, to locate the origin as a practitioner of it series of tests and measurements (defect of insulation, overheats, starting…) and to determine the actions to carry out to give the system in state as soon as possible by respecting the regulation
• To give in state/to regulate
To carry out the tasks of maintenance necessary: tightening with the couple of connections, de-dusting of the electrical contacts, modification of wiring… in the event of breakdown, to replace the defective part or component, to carry out connections…
To carry out, according to the evolution of the regulation, the modifications necessary in order to maintain the installations in conformity with the law (modification of the systems of restarting following an electric cut…)
• To audit and return account
To carry out the lawful tests of start-up to record information on the documents with legal value which constitute the proof of the observance regulation to fill it of and sign data sheets of intervention which will make it possible to constitute the file of maintenance of the apparatuses and to find the whole of the modifications carried out to inform the GMAO if necessary (Management of the maintenance computer-assisted)
It intervenes with other specialists (mechanics, electrical engineers, control engineers…) with which you will have to dialogue to give in service the defective equipment as soon as possible.
He works in normal schedule, but also in shift work (3x8), of night or in obligation (compensated) according to the requirements of the production.
In an after-sales service, brought to carry out displacements at the customer.
