Staff makes it possible to carry out decorative works with the reasons, unbounded volumes and forms (vaults, columns, rosettes…) while carrying out in workshop of the models, of the moulds and the plaster mouldings armed with fibres, then assembled on the building site.
The Stuccos are decorative coatings (stuccos stones, stuccos marbles…) composed of plaster, colors, marble or stone dust, intended to imitate marbles or stones.
The Insulation contributes to improve comfort of life and safety by using insulating products on the thermal, phonic and acoustic level. Moreover the plaster being fireproof, it is used for protection fire of constructions.
Work conditions
To practise the Trades of the plaster requires many qualities: the motivation, taste for art and styles, the direction of esthetics, cleanliness, creativity, the sociability and the spirit of initiative.
Contrary to an generally accepted idea, it is not necessary to have an exceptional physical resistance. The women are increasingly numerous to exert this trade.
The experts of the trades of the plaster work in often artisanal companies of the building specialized in installation, the restoration, decoration and the insulation.
They generally exert in team of two or three and are in close relationship with the other trade associations (electrician, plumber…), customers and project superintendents. The activity is distributed on the whole of the territory, according to the population density.

The principal diplomas being able to be prepared are the CAPE Plasterer-plaquiste, the CAPE Staffeur ornemanist, the complementary mention Plaquiste, BP Plaster works and plates, the Patent of the Trades of art Volumes: Associated staffs and materials, the BTS Installation completions which can come to supplement a professional licence.
