 The tile-layer must be increasingly general-purpose, there remains autonomous and creative.
If its principal mission consists in carrying out the coating of the grounds and the walls of constructions, the originality of its activity lies in the matters with which it works.
All the matters are allowed: slate, earthenware, sandstone, marble, molten glass, hone, plastic, porcelain… to quote only some possibilities among so many others.

The tile-layer generally works according to drawings or written instructions. exceptionally, these instructions can be verbal, in this case, it will have to show of meticulousness and technical skill.
Before posing his squares, the tile-layer will have first of all to work the support on which it will intervene.
He will have to thus carry out a very flat support, support on which will be then stuck the squares.
To flatten his support, the tile-layer must control some concepts of masonry and geometry.
He must be able to make a cover, a wall or a straw mattress, if he intervenes on a new building.
Once this completed work, the tile-layer poses the squares according to a predefined provision.

The work of installation varies according to the type of coating and the tile-layer will be able to use chemical adhesives, cement or hydraulic lime.
Various techniques of installation are used according to materials and the nature of the supports (dry cover or fresh cover, walls or jambs, grounds or straw mattresses).
This work, very precise, requires strong meticulousness.
The tile-layer starts by cutting out the squares with the good dimension, it coats them then adhesive, of cement or lime, for finally posing them on the support.
But its work does not finish there since the tile-layer will have to check the alignment and the level of the tiling.
Will know that this trade is physical, the tile-layer being often with knees placing the squares or to control their positioning.

It supposes also artistic talents to create and carry out aesthetic works, starting from a broad choice of materials and fitting
• To decorate and protect grounds, walls and frontages We equip surfaces by covering them with similar material or ceramics squares.
After having taken a very precise reading of the work (levels, flatness, squarings, coasts,…), we prepare the support, then we trace the reference marks, which will allow the good alignment of the squares.
Once the squares sealed with mortar or stuck, we produce the joints with gray, white or tinted cement mortar. The result obtained is at the same time decorative, resistant, relatively tight and easy of maintenance.
• Of the small squares of mosaic to the large ceramics squares The tilings are carried out starting from very varied products, so much by their nature (enamelled stoneware or, earthenware, natural stone, terra cotta, molten glass, mosaic) that by their form, their dimension (of a few centimetres to several tens of centimetres) or their color.
The use of planks, cabochons and listels or the combination of installations right and diagonal of the squares still reinforce the esthetics of our works
